No Agreement met; NBA Players and Owners will meet again Monday

Stay connected for news and updates

After five hours of "negotiating," NBA players and owners still have not reached an agreement as we head into the deadline day for starting the season on time.

Last week, owners and players agreed to meet Sunday to try to salvage the season before the October 10 deadline.  They agreed to meet again Monday afternoon.

Derek Fisher, union president of the Los Angeles Lakers, acknowledged that the sides are "not necessarily closer" to a deal than they were when talks started last week.

Though the exhibition schedule has already been cancelled, training camps postponed, the November 1 opening day to the season has yet to be cancelled.  If an agreement is not reached this afternoon, however, NBA commissioner David Stern said the first two weeks of the season will be cancelled.
