The Great White Chocolate!!!
I watched the 1998 draft with fingers crossed that the man that would come to be known as "White Chocolate" would go to a team that played the Spurs since I live in Austin. Sacramento - ok, well at least I will get to see highlights. This baller defied the standard for point guards in modern basketball. His jersey was a top 5 seller in his rookie year, his highlight reel is something that will be shown to generations of people and his skills continued to grow as Hubie Brown did what so many others (Jerry West, Rick the Slick) could not do - hone his talent and create the ABSOLUTE BEST POINT GUARD this generation of basketball lovers would ever get a chance to see. I drove thousands of miles, countless dollars and missed many life events just to watch this stud drop dimes silkier and smoother than anyone else since Pistol Pete!
J Will - you will be terribly missed. I hope the swagger, attitude and creativeness you brought to this young Grizz team will help them win over and over again. I'll never forget sitting front row at a Spurs game wearing your jersey (fake tatts and all) and screaming for you, Webber and Vlade to beat the snot out of the Spurs even though I am from Texas. You took a breather in the third after getting into it with a fan; I stood up and cheered and clapped for you as the crowd booed and the look and finger point you gave me while sporting a towel on your head will never leave my mind. You are a legend - now go enjoy yourself like one. LONG LIVE JASON WILLIAMS aka J Dubb aka J Will aka White Chocolate - YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED!!!!
Crow Bird - Texan that cheers for any team J Will has touched!!
