As Ron Tillery had reported earlier last week, the Grizzlies have officially assigned Tony Wroten to the NBA Developmental League.
This is no surprise, as we saw this coming, but now it's been made official.
According to the team, the Grizzlies have assigned Tony Wroten to the D-League, where he will suit up for the Reno Bighorns.
The Memphis Grizzlies assigned guard Tony Wroten to the Reno Bighorns, the team’s NBA Development League affiliate, Grizzlies General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Wallace announced today.
Wroten (6-6, 208) has totaled one rebound and one steal in eight minutes through three appearances in his rookie season with Memphis.
As we noted earlier, this seems like the right move. He needs to get reps, and he will down in the D. I expect we'll see him up again sooner than later, but for now we wish him well and hope that he can develop that jumper down below before getting the call to the Association.
He needs to develop that jumper!
