With all the Suns turmoil at the center spot, does that mean we're in for a huge game from Marc Gasol?
Memphis is by far the better team, but Phoenix is bound to end their losing streak (now at 7) eventually and possibly in a revenge game at home. After all, they fell to the Grizz in overtime last time.
Despite Memphis coming off of a home loss to Atlanta, and with a few days off, Phoenix may just have the emotional edge tonight. One thing I do feel confident saying is that Marc Gasol should have a great game.
I thought the Spaniard looked out of sorts vs. Phoenix last time despite contributing 14 pts, 9 rebs, 4 assts. I saw him pass up shots when he was open and then he looked to score while in a crowd. It was atypical of Marc, who usually reads the game perfectly from the high post.
The Suns are having some major issues at the pivot (as well as other spots). Marcin Gortat has complained about touches this year, and lately has been watching most 4th quarters from the bench. Jermaine O'neal played the '5' down the stretch in that OT thriller in Memphis, even getting the final shot in regulation.
Tonight, I expect Marc to take advantage of this team inside and play a great game. Will it be 38 & 22? No... but a 21, 12, & 5 would be nice. And that is certainly attainable.
