Sixers 99, Grizzlies 89: Losing and Haiku-zing.

Not a happy Hollins. - Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Grizzlies lost a home game to the Philadelphia 76ers tonight, 89-99.

This was gross, folks. Rudy Gay was absent for "personal reasons" after being scratched from the starting lineup only 15 minutes before the start of the game, and Mike Conley had probably his worst game of the season so far, shooting 3-17 with 5 assists, 2 turnovers, and 2 steals.

Trick-or-treat Tony Allen appeared to be mostly tricks on offense while treating us to a pretty good defensive effort while the rest of the team was stinking the place up on defense.

Overall, the offense was terrible (as usual) and the defense was terrible (which isn't normal). A bad night. It looks even worse in light of Saturday's big loss at Houston.

Here's the scoring breakdown by quarter:

Tomorrow morning I'll have a little "holiday recap" looking back at the last three Griz games: the win over the Mavericks, the loss at Houston, and the tonight's monstrosity. But first, here's a haiku.

Rudy went missing.

So did Mike Conley's jump shot;

So did our winning.

Join in the fun and post your own haiku in the comments. This game ought to generate some good ones.
