Adam Francis over at SB Nation's Toronto Raptors blog Raptors HQ is putting together a great series on his site where he is going around the league and asking each team blogger whether he/she would rather stick with his/her current team or if he/she would rather be in the position the Toronto Raptors are at this given moment. It's an interesting questions, especially when you factor in cap space, market, the "now," the future, management, etc.
So, I took the time to answer his question, as to who I would rather be: the Raptors or the Grizzlies. I had a lot of fun answering this question, and while my thoughts can be summed up with this killer of a phrase:
Overall, though, I think I'd stick with the Memphis Grizzlies, for the simple fact that I know we're going to compete over the next 3-4 years as currently constructed. I have no doubt that the Raptors are well on their way toward joining the ranks of playoff-contending teams in the East, but we're there, and for that I would rather an established team like the Grizzlies with its core (Conley-Gasol-Randolph-Gay) over the Raptors.
You should definitely read the rest of my thoughts HERE.
There are certain areas where I think the Raptors are positioned better than our beloved Grizzlies, but if it were up to me, give me the Grizzlies in this scenario.
