Sam Amico of Fox Sports is reporting that the Grizzlies are among a handful of teams interested in giving former Suns shooter Michael Redd a look. Along with the Grizz, Amico is reporting that the Nuggets, Wizards, Bulls and Thunder are also interested.

Now, I'm not sure I'd be all that thrilled about seeing Redd in a Grizzlies uniform next season. Sure, we can always use another shooter, but I just don't think Redd is that guy. Last season he was able to play about 15 minutes per game with the Suns, shooting 2.6 threes per game but only hitting on just 31.8% of his attempts. Yeah, in his prime he was one of the league's best three-point shooters, but those days are long gone. Now, he's able to step in and make the occasional three. I mean, Rudy Gay is a better 3-point shooter, today, than Redd is. There's something to keep in mind. I just don't think he's a fit. Give us someone with more length and athleticism, please.

While this is merely a rumor, speculation, I do think the Grizzlies might be kicking the tires here, seeing what Redd might have left in him. I don't necessarily think it's a real option, though. This almost reeks of Gilbert Arenas desperation, and right now we're not even close to the point where we need to consider such options.
