Tonight, the Grizzlies are in Phoenix to take on the Suns as they kick off a three-game West Coast road trip that sees them stopping at Phoenix, Sacramento, and Golden State before returning home to play the Spurs on Friday.
The first time these two teams met, in Memphis, it took a 38-22 game from Zach Randolph to pull out a win in overtime. The second time they played, in Phoenix, the Grizzlies lost 82-80 in one of the games that started their slide from league-dominating powerhouse to second-tier Western Conference playoff team.
The same things we said for those other two games apply now, except more so, because the Rockets, the Trail Blazers, and the Nuggets have all beaten the Grizzlies and are all chasing them in the playoff standings. The Grizzlies need a win. They need to get back on track, and they need to figure out how to score points in the fourth quarter. Taking November as an exception, this problem existed last year. It hasn't been fixed. The Grizzlies need to work on fixing it on this road trip.
So there's that.
Let's talk it out!
