Memphis Daily News interviews Quincy Pondexter after contract extension

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sport

Don Wade at Memphis Daily news has a great interview with QPon about how and if things have changed following his 4 year $14 million contract extension.

I think we got a good one, folks. Memphis loves itself some good guys, and Quincy Pondexter is as solid and grounded as any young man you'll find in professional sports. Some quotes from Don Wade's interview with QPon:

If anything I'm gonna work harder. I'm still young in my career and I'm glad they made the long-term commitment to me. I know myself; I know I'm not satisfied. I want to do so much better.

I can keep building. I don't have to put pressure on anything. I'm playing straight for the team. I've never been a player that really cared about points, assists, all that stuff. I care about my team winning.

I'm so athletic and able to do other things on the floor that once people start closing out on my shot, I'll be able to create for myself and my teammates and be a playmaker.

I encourage you to go read the entire piece over here. It includes some of Dave Joerger's thoughts on Pondexter, as well.
