Zbo gives some nice quotes in the wake of the trade rumors surround him, Ryan Anderson, and the rest. Zach shows great unrest with him being in the trade rumors, saying that he feels there is no loyalty in this organization. He goes on to say that in great organizations (Spurs, Heat) they show a great amount of loyalty to players that have done something for them.
While I personally think the trade will help the grizzlies from a numbers stand point, I did not want the trade to happen. People can cite that the management needs to do what is best for this team, but what I think is best for this team is to keep ZBo. Yes he is aging, yes he is on a HUGE contract right now, but as he likes to say, he doesn't bluff. Which makes me believe that when he says he is willing to take a pay cut to retire in Memphis, he will do exactly what he says. Therefore getting a Huge power forward who is supposedly the identity of this team for a steal of money (kinda like Timmy D did for the spurs) would be rather large for us.
Really though, if you trade ZBo, we really need to just refund most of our t-shirts, give back our grind towels and rename the grind house because trading ZBo signifies that we are no longer the throw it in the post, work the clock and let our big men score, then go back and play tuff-nosed defense. We are now the team like likes to run down really quickly and take a three. Our identity will completely change, and I really don't want that now.
