The Orlando Magic fly into Memphis today in attempts to break a five-game-losing amid their six-game-road trip. The Grizzlies look to salvage the identity they formed at home last season, as Memphis has played awfully in the the FedexForum this season.
Recently for the Grizzlies: Injuries, everywhere. The Griz already down Marc Gasol, they have recently had to deal with Zach Randolph missing time for an ingrown toenail, as well as monitoring the day-to-day condition of Tony Allen, Ed Davis and Quincy Pondexter. The rash of injuries has left Memphis shorthanded and forces them to bring in free agent wing players this week to crutch the team until the roster can get healthy.
Recently for the Magic: Fortunately for the Grizzlies, nothing very positive. In the past month the Orlando Magic have won precisely three (3) games while giving up 100 points more more in nearly every contest. The good news for the Magic is that the Grizzlies have shown little ability to claw their way up to 100 points this season, especially at home in Memphis. Will the guards of Orlando light of the Grizzlies with Tony Allen possibly missing another game tonight?
Last time they met: 3/3/2013, the Grizzlies received solid scoring contributions from every single player on their roster including Austin Daye and Dexter Pittman while holding the Magic to 2/15 from three-point land. More recently than that, the Grizzlies faced Orlando on the road during the preseason with very similar results.
