Griz trade target Redick heads to Milwaukee

The Grizzlies wanted to trade for J.J. Redick, but they didn't make it happen. Instead, the Orlando guard was traded to Milwaukee in a deal that saw a lot of players moving around.

Josh McRoberts was also traded from Orlando to Charlotte for former Griz Hakim Warrick. McRoberts, you may remember, was almost traded to the Grizzlies for O.J. Mayo, but the teams didn't file the paperwork on time.

That certainly puts a damper on the Grizzlies' pursuit of Redick, but they did manage to pick up Dexter Pittman today to fill out a roster spot, so I'd say it was a pretty good — certainly low risk, low reward — deadline for the Grizzlies overall.
