After a dramatic win against Oklahoma City on Wednesday, the Grizzlies travel to The Bayou to take on, for the last time, the team known as the New Orleans Hornets. The Hornets are a tough match-up against the Grizzlies with sharp-shooting Ryan Anderson leading the way. In this season's previous meetings between the two, Anderson has posed a significant threat from the beyond the arc shooting 44% from the three-point line.
Marc Gasol said it best in a post game interview on Wednesday when he said they must maintain focus for every game and not have a let down. Then he cursed on live television and that was funny. However, his message reigns true, we cannot suffer let down games if we are to win the 3-seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
Ryan's Talking Points
- Should see big minutes from the Grizzlies "small" lineup tonight, Tayshaun Prince playing the power forward position, especially when Ryan Anderson is on the floor. I like the potential of the Conley, Bayless, Pondexter, Prince, Gasol lineup, but they do not have any successful offensive sets with this group.
- Need a bounce-back game for Quincy Pondexter. His 3PT production has not fallen off too dramatically (11/29 in his last 10 games) but watching his game, he is less effective as of late. According to GameScore his three least productive games have come in the last two weeks (@Denver, @Utah, vs.Oklahoma City). Luckily for QPon's mojo his highest score came in December against New Orleans.
