Grizzly Links: Kevin Lipe on The Phil Naessens Show

USA TODAY Sports

I went on the Phil Naessens Show to talk about the end of Grizzlies/Spurs and what the future holds for the Grizzlies franchise. J.R. Wilco of Pounding the Rock was on, too.

I recorded a show with Phil Naessens of the Phil Naessens Show last night. I tried to shake off the disappointment of getting swept and talk a little bit about how the Griz can get to the next level.

From the show notes:

The San Antonio Spurs are the Western Conference Champions and joining host Phil Naessens to discuss their series with the Memphis Grizzlies is Pounding the Rock Managing Editor JR Wilco…they also look ahead to who is next for the Spurs. Also joining Phil is Grizzly Bear Blues Managing Editor Kevin Lipe who will share his thoughts about the series with the Spurs and what he feels the Grizzlies will do in the off season to better their squad. All this and more on Wednesday’s Phil Naessens Show.

At first, I was hoping J.R. Wilco would be on at the same time—but then I remembered a phone conversation I had with him before the start of the Conference Finals when we were coordinating coverage, and I remembered that I picked the Grizzlies in six or seven. No doubt, J.R. would have reminded me of that on the show, and that just would have made me sad.

Take a listen. Phil’s a great guy to talk basketball with.
