I'm glad the Grizzlies decided to let me and themselves get some sleep tonight, although it might take a couple of hours to shake all this adrenaline.
The Grizzlies took the lead early in the game and never gave it up even though it looked like, at times, they wanted to give Denver every chance possible to get back into the mix.
Memphis again struggled from the free throw line, possibly making things a lot more difficult on themselves, again. But Zach Randolph, Mike Conley and Courtney Lee were prepared for the thin Rocky Mountain air tonight and put up 58 points between the threesome; ZBo with the interior work, Lee with the exterior work and Mike Conley providing a nice balance of both including a huge three-pointer down the final stretch.
I chalk this one up to savvy, timeliness and a smidgeon of luck, and honestly those are three components you really want to have on-call this time of year in the NBA.
Sleep well, Grizz Nation. The Memphis Grizzlies are back in the playoffs for the moment. There's a lot of hard work left to grind out, but this team has shown themselves capable of coming back from dire odds time and time again.
