Beno's back, Mike Miller may not be and the Summer Grizzlies are playing for the 'Ship! Plenty was discussed on the latest installment of GBBLive with your host Joe Mullinax! Listen to the program in the player below or by this link.
The first segment of the show featured the familiar voice of Chris Faulkner, Producer of GBBLive and Managing Editor of Grizzly Bear Blues, in "Grizzly Bear News." Free Agency was the major topic of conversation, focusing on the Grizzlies bringing back Beno Udrih, the ongoing LeBron drama and how it affects Mike Miller in Memphis and Matt Hrdlicka's great Free Agency article from Thursday. The Grizzlies seem primed for a run at 2015 free agency according to Matt, but what about this coming season? How will the Grizzlies improve heading into 2014? That and more are discussed here.
Next up was BluesCityJoe, AKA Joe Witherwax, to discuss Summer League Grizzlies basketball with Joe and Chris. The Grizzlies draft picks Jarnell Stokes and Jordan Adams have performed well, while Jamaal Franklin (Rockets game aside) and Janis Timma have disappointed. Kalin Lucas, Jack Cooley and Scottie Wilbekin are other names who are discussed for a Grizzlies team who is in the Orlando Summer League Championship Game!
Patrick Edwards of RockyTopTalk, a Tennessee Volunteer fan blog for SB Nation, joined Mullinax in the last segment to discuss J-Bo, or Jarnell Stokes. Patrick had great insight into Jarnell's great motor and ability to attack the glass while also questioning J-Bo's offensive versatility in a fair way. J-Bo will not be asked to do a ton this season though, and he has great teachers in Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol to learn the ins and outs of offensive basketball from. Stokes can hit the boards, and that will help immediately.
