Since the Grizz are a small-market team, I thought that some details in my latest article might interest some of you. The Grizzlies, while in Memphis (the 5th smallest market in the NBA), still manage to exceed the luxury tax this season. There's also some discussion as to the seeming failure of the CBA, as the Lakers can simply swallow the tax with their 100 million dollar payroll this season.
According to the Memphis Edge, Hamed Haddadi is currently wearing a cast on his right hand. It is believed that Haddadi had elective surgery to repair damage from an old hand injury he suffered before originally signing with the Grizzlies for the 2008-2009 season. Get well soon, Hamed!
Former Grizzly Stromile Swift (I'd call him a "fan favorite" if I thought that many fans remembered him fondly) pled guilty to stalking charges, and received a suspended jail sentence. Not cool, Stro.
Jeremy Pargo pulls a sick double crossover and then dishes a no-look pass to Mitchell Watt. Looks like somebody's trying to play his way into the Grizzlies' good graces so he can stay on the roster. (Video from Truth About It via The Big Lead.)
Nice pickup to replace Mayo.
He made the alternate list.
