Here's a great profile of Robert Pera by the Memphis Commercial Appeal's Ted Evanoff and Kyle Veazey, who flew out to San Jose for a few days last week. There are a lot of questions surrounding the sale of the team, and most of them are really questions about Pera and about his intentions. This piece doesn't answer all of them, but it does start to paint a picture of what kind of person Robert Pera is.
Nate Timmons over at Denver Stiffs, the SB Nation family Denver Nuggets blog, was present when the team held NBA Draft workouts this week and got a chance to speak with the somewhat local Will Barton, of the University of Memphis. Nate had to include a question on "The Wire" since Barton is originally from Baltimore, but aside from it being a fun read it's also really informative. Check it out!
The fine folks over at Bright Side of the Sun (our SB Nation network Phoenix Suns blog) put together a preview of this summer's free agency, starting with the Southwest Division (OURS!!). So, they hit me up, as the kids say, and asked me a couple of questions about our team and free agency. I was more than happy to play along. This is a great, fun read. If you're looking for some perspective on how our division might shake out this summer, and going forward, take a look at this piece.
This is an excellent write-up by SI's Zach Lowe. He called up our friend Tony Allen and asked him to act as a scout for the NBA Finals. Of course, Tony is familiar with the sets the Thunder run, and as arguably the league's top defender, he had plenty to say about how to stop them defensively. "You can’t shoot the gap," Allen says. "You just don’t." Why? Because Durant will read that early and simply fade out to the baseline for an open jump shot. You should absolutely check this out.
Going up online as we speak: Sources tell ESPN that Michael Heisley has found buyer for Grizzlies: Communications tech magnate Robert Pera.
Nate Parham over at Golden State of Mind put together a great trade rumor piece involving a few SB Nation bloggers and their rumored player heading from their respective team to the Warriors. Naturally, with Rudy Gay being rumored to be on the move, with the Warriors as an interested party, I answered a few questions Nate sent over on any deal involving Rudy and the Warriors. Check it out!
A sit down with Marc Gasol from the good people at HoopsHype.
Yesterday in Grizzlies offseason news: Hamed Haddadi went to the Memphis Zoo, saying that "Giraffes are my friends." He sure does make that kid look tiny.
In case you missed the strange, so very strange halftime show on TNT last night, well, here's a fantastic recap from Mike Prada of SB Nation, including a word from our buddy Tony Allen. [h/t to JA Sherman]
