"Wallace has a hard job working under Michael Heisley, who is liable to jump in and overrule him whenever he wants. He had been doing a better job than people realized the last couple years, though there will be a lot of pain on the back end of these contract extensions."
Once again, Mike Prada does a fantastic piece about GM's. For the most part I'm inclined to agree with his judgment, especially because I feel that almost no GM has as many built-in disadvantages as Chris Wallace (small market, overbearing owner, etc.). Also, the fact that Wallace has moved up 5 spots from last year's ranking correctly reflects the excellent job he did this year. I'm worried as hell about our long-term salary, but talent-wise we're a lot better off than most teams.
What do you guys think?
Mike Prada with another great piece today on Chris Wallace and Michael Heisley, summing that maybe it's time to clean the slate when it comes to the Grizzlies management. The joke is no longer on the Grizz!
