Sunday Tweeners: 8/2

Slow week for Grizzlies news, since the Grizzlies aren't really about spending money its been a slow offseason period. And it's about to get a lot slower. You can just feel the slowdown, hell the other day I'm pretty sure I didn't even have to scroll to check every story on HoopsHype. Still, I'm going to do my best to keep entertaining everyone and keep those few stalwart Memphis fans on the tip.

A couple points worth saying in a  paragraph, but not a whole story, on the other side of the jump.

Well I don't know much about the site, but Basketball Fiend has released a nice long post on the 'Nine Most Tortuous Franchises in the NBA.' Guess who gets the notable distiction of the most tortuous franchise in the NBA? Memphis. Even though the article basically only considers the last three years or so of a franchise; actually, basically their current roster, I'm inclined to agree with this pick.I've already noted the scouts firing, but just to make note, this is really a bad sign.

Ziller from SacTown Royalty posted on the sad state of affairs at FanHouse. Pending something like acquiring Nate Rob or A.I. the Grizzlies are about to be right at minimum payroll for next season. They are now becoming the laughing stock of the league, not unlike the Pau Gasol trade amplified one hundred times over. Why? Because its now becoming clear that not only did they make a poor rebuilding effort in the trade, they also have no interest in spending to rebuild.

What else is there to say? Well, it sucks to be a Grizzlies fan right now.
