The Memphis Grizzlies will take on the Utah Jazz for the second time in 2011 tonight in Memphis. During their match-up on New Year's Day, the Grizzlies fell just short of the Jazz in a 98-92 loss despite a 27-point, 16-rebound performance from Zach Randolph. A silver lining: Rudy Gay missed the game with a stomach virus.
In that contest, O.J. Mayo returned to the starting line-up for the then injured Xavier Henry and played a full 48 minutes. Mayo is likely to return to action tonight after missing Tuesday's game with a case of bronchitis.
So long as the Grizzlies execute their gameplan, which is no doubt to continuously feed Randolph until the Jazz can come up with a consistent counter, I think they will be fine in this game. Even without Rudy Gay, they came within six points of beating Utah just six days ago and with Rudy back the offense should be a bit more dynamic.
