Game Preview: Sixers invade FedExForum

Philly will try to push the tempo on Wednesday night while the Grizzlies will look inside.

Nelson Chenault-US PRESSWIRE

The Nets were so concerned about Thaddeus Young on Sunday that they started Gerald Wallace at the 4-spot. The Grizzlies will not be so generous. Thad will be forced to guard either Z-Bo or Marc tonight, and he'll likely be calling for help all night.

Memphis (18-7) should punish Philadelphia (13-15) on the inside and pretty much obliterate Doug Collins' normal big man rotation. Spencer Hawes, LaVoy Allen, Kwame Brown...they'll all be put to the test in this one.

The 76ers, like the Grizzlies, look to force turnovers so Mike Conley will have to make sure Memphis doesn't get sloppy. On defense, Mike will be tested as well. JRue Holiday is the head of the snake these days in Philly and he's been able to get wherever he's wanted to recently. That freedom must be limited tonight. Tony Allen could see a lot of time on Holiday in this one, especially if Evan Turner is off. I, personally, think that ET is overrated. He's not particularly fast or quick, but he has Doug's confidence. I predict TA will take him out of this game, early.

The rest of Philly's starting lineup features Spencer Hawes and Dorrell Wright. Marc will see a lot of himself in Hawes, who plays a lot at the high post. Rudy, meanwhile, must make sure that Wright isn't left open outside. He's been really hot from three lately.

Assuming that the Grizzlies didn't stuff themselves on Christmas, I expect a good effort tonight and for them to control matters from the start.
