Just cleaning up some news here, getting ready for tonight's game against the Toronto Raptors, and all indication is that both Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph will play tonight. Good. To. Hear.
It's been a while since we've gotten to see a "complete" Grizzlies team suit up, but it appears that at the very least we'll get a decent look at our core, playing together (imagine that!), tonight. Now, of course both players, more specifically Randolph, will be eased back into the lineup, and for good reason. The goal is onward, not just winning against the Raptors tonight. Let's not get too short-sided here.
Griz coach Lionel Hollins has been encouraged by Randolph’s work in practice for more than a week. The veteran forward looked aggressive, showing second and third effort for rebounds and on defense. He’s spry, and looking like the player who carried the Griz during the second half of last season and through the playoffs.
Hollins, though, cautioned that fans shouldn’t expect too much from Randolph too soon.
Yeah, well, good. And I don't think reasonable fans are expecting too much from Randolph here in the early goings. I just think we want to see him get back into game-shape, work out the kinks and be ready to roll when the playoffs come around.
That, of course isn't too much to ask. What's great though, even just as a morale booster, is seeing our team back together again. Our complete, full... oh, wait, we'll have to do this all over again if/when we get Gilbert Arenas. So, yeah, enjoy it tonight! I know I'm looking forward to seeing Zach back in action. Grit n' Grind, baby.
