In case you missed it, Chris Paul didn't play last night against the New York Knicks due to a minor strain in his groin. Naturally this leads many Grizzlies fans to wonder, will he be ready in time for the playoffs? Well, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whether or not you're one of those "bring it on!" kind of fans), Paul told the media after last night's game that he will be ready to suit up against the Grizzlies on Sunday for Game 1.
"Yeah, I'll be OK," Paul said.
Paul could get an extra day to rest and treat his injury if the playoff series begins on Sunday.
"Yeah, I'll be fine," Paul said. "I'll be good."
So will he be playing for sure?
"No question," Paul responded.
So, there you have it. Case closed. We got a little lucky last year with Manu Ginobili missing Game 1 in the the first round of the playoffs, but it appears as if the Clippers will have Paul on Sunday. Which, is fine. We don't want to have to contend with cries of, "You never would have beat the Clippers if Paul was healthy!" Fair point. So, we'll take a healthy Chris Paul on Sunday and play our game.
The playoffs are here! Time to get excit... Oh, yeah, wait we have a regular season game tonight. I wonder what Glen Davis' status is...
