According to Marc Stein, of ESPN.com, the Raptors and Grizzlies are closing in on a deal that will send Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi to Toronto for Jose Calderon and Ed Davis.
From there, it is expected that the Grizzlies will turn Calderon around and possibly trade him to Detroit, as Stein reports, where they might look to shed a small forward on the Grizzlies: Tayshaun Prince or Corey Maggette, it is assumed.
Third team not yet in stone but Pistons have had interest in Calderon all season & have two SFs to help MEM fill Gay void: Prince & Maggette

The other option is Dallas, where Stein says the Mavericks are reluctant to part with Vince Carter, who the Grizzlies might want in return for Calderon.
ESPN sources say Dallas is other prime landing spot for Calderon, but I'm told Mavs reluctant to part with SF that Grizz want: Vince Carter

Yes, Vince Carter.
The Grizzlies initially were looking for a young prospect of a player (Davis fits the mold), cap relief (they shed nearly $35 million in the process) and a small forward to bridge the gap between this season and next, hence turning Calderon around. We'll find out soon what comes of the deal, but it appears as if the Grizzlies are really close to moving Gay.
