The isolation!
They just couldn't run a play;
They cleared out and lost.
Here's your box score:
Now, obviously, the haiku is complaining about isolation, but don't read that as an indictment of Rudy Gay. If the Grizzlies hadn't missed the last ten shots of the game -- seriously: they missed all ten of the last ten shots they took in the fourth quarter -- Rudy wouldn't have been in a situation where he had 2.3 seconds to try and make something happen with a contested jumper. The Grizzlies played hard tonight, but they made no shots.
At halftime, the Grizzlies were shooting 51.3%. They ended the game shooting 39.5%. That second half -- Marreese Speights' 18 second-half points notwithstanding -- was ugly.
We'll have some more in-depth recap coverage of this one later. For now, let's release some of our Grizzly angst with a haiku or two.
You can check out Blazer's Edge for the (probably cheerful) Portland reaction.
