Rudy Gay Trade: Raptors enter trade talks

ESPN's Marc Stein says that the Raptors are making serious push for Rudy.

The Rudy Gay-to-Phoenix rumor was soooo yesterday.

Today, Marc Stein (of ESPN) is reporting that the Toronto Raptors are making a serious push for the star small forward.

"Sources told ESPN.com this week that the Raptors -- who tried to make a play for Gay before the 2012 NBA Draft -- remain seriously "interested" in the Grizzlies' leading scorer and are trying to assemble trade packages to bring the 26-year-old to Toronto after preliminary talks with Memphis.

Among the trade chips that the Raptors are believed to be dangling, in addition to draft considerations, are veteran point guard Jose Calderon (who possesses an expiring contract worth $10.6 million) and young big man Ed Davis."

The Raptors would be scary athletic with both DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay on the wings. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, would be scary inexpensive on the perimeter.

Rumor also has it that the Grizzlies have held talks about trading All-Star Zach Randolph, with the Kings being mentioned.

I'll believe that when I see it.

Z-Bo is the face of this franchise, and a priceless double-double machine in my eyes.
