The Grizzlies head back to Texas on Saturday, but this time they've got a nice pocket full of momentum hitching the ride with them. We began to see the congealing of what might be a functioning Grizzlies offense last night, but can the Grizzlies keep that ball zipping around like a pinball without turning it over too often?
Recently for the Grizzlies: You saw it last night. You saw the return of Grit and Grind, that persistent attitude that makes the Grizzlies so hard to put down for the night. Although I'm still not a huge fan of 17 point 1st quarters, Memphis was able to successfully pick of the pace through the remainder of the evening against the Pistons.
Recently for the Mavericks: The Mavericks were destroyed by the Rockets in Houston 105-113 (sounds familiar). The Mavs still have the ability to put up plenty of scoring, but after giving up 38 pts to the Rockets in the 1st quarter, the hill proved too steep to be surmounted.
Last Time They Met: It was an ugly affair for both teams during a meeting at FedexForum in the preseason that saw the Mavs come out on top 90-95. For the viewers sake, I hope this game is a lot more professional. The power forward position will be turned on full blast (compared to the preseason game), so watch out for a hot Dirk and a determined ZBo.
