The Grizzlies offense looked confused, and the defense was always a step behind the Mavericks, and Memphis lost the game fairly soundly in Dallas tonight. The entire game game be summed up by a play with about 1:00 left in the 4th quarter, Grizzlies down by 8, after showing a nice defensive front, Zach Randolph commits a frustration foul and puts Nowitzski to line to basically seal the game.
The Grizzlies got mixed production from their starters tonight. Tony Allen put up a big ole goose egg in the point total, and Tayshaun Prince disappeared after the first half. Zbo, Conley and Gasol all finished with 20+ points, but the Grizzlies won't be able to rely on primary scoring from three different players if they want to be successful this season.
Did I mention anything about the fouls? The ref's whistle basically ended the game at the beginning of the 4th quarter, but the Grizzlies looked lazy and lead-footed on defense and never adjusted to the officiating to make a comeback.
Stay tuned for a full recap from Joe Mullinax coming up here this hour! GBB staying up late for you tonight!
