Recently for the Grizzlies: Memphis returns from Boston with a solid win over the Celtics in spite of a late-game scare. The Griz are now 1-1 without Marc Gasol, and are encouraged by the additional news that Gasol could end up only missing 3-4 weeks. This comes as great news to fans that can tell there are going to be stretches in nearly every game where Marc's absence is sorely felt.
Recently for the Nets: Nothing really worth talking about; the Nets are very bad this year. After an early win over the Heat, their other 3 wins have come against the Jazz, the Suns and the Raptors. They aren't doing anything particularly well, and Jason Kidd is still breaking in his coaching-moxie. The Nets lost ugly to the Rockets in Houston last night, so they aren't exactly bringing much momentum into the Grindhouse tonight.
Last time they met: 2/24/2013. The Grizzlies went into Brooklyn and won in what was one of the worst basketball games ever played, 76-72. Even with Gasol sidelined, I expect the Grizzlies to play tough at home and pound the paint with Brook Lopez still getting back to form from a bad ankle sprain.
