NBA Playoffs 2013 GameThread: Grizzlies vs. Thunder, Game 4

New, comments

That's right, folks, it's up to the Grizzlies to defend the home court advantage they went out and stole for themselves in Game 2 tonight against Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Jamie Squire

I am writing this from deep in the bowels of the Federal Express Forum, and let me tell you, folks, tonight's game is a big one. I was just out and about looking around at tonight's "All Heart" and "Grit. Grind." growl towels, which makes me feel like my wife and I got the lamest towels ever (they only said "Believe Memphis" and "Grizzlies vs. Thunder" like the ones from 2011 and 2012). Tonight's towels continue the tradition of awesomeness that started with the "Grit" and "Grind" towels for Game 4 against the Clippers, but they still don't hold a candle to "We Don't Bluff."

But enough about yellow towels. There's a basketball game tonight, if you didn't know. The Grizzlies have a 2-1 lead in the series but they barely held on Saturday against the Westbrook-less Thunder, and got beaten in every box score category but free throws. The Thunder have to be feeling good about that, almost stealing a playoff game on the road.

We'll see what happens. Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph need to reassert themselves on the interior, and the Griz need to get back to basics and shut down everyone on the Thunder that can be shut down. (Note that that category doesn't usually include Kevin Durant.)

Grizzlies. Thunder. Two wins away from the Western Conference Finals.

Let's talk it out!
