Free Agency 2013: Grizzlies working on Nick Calathes trade with Dallas

The Grizzlies are working to trade "future draft considerations" to the Dallas Mavericks for the rights to Euro point guard Nick Calathes, multiple sources reported Sunday and Monday.

ESPN's Marc Stein, hot on the heels of reporting that Griz brass met with Mike Miller, reported that the trade was in the works last night:

Calathes is a Euro point guard, and the prevailing wisdom is that he's being brought in as "Tony Wroten insurance," just in case the second-year Griz guard can't hack it this year.

And, yes, yet again, the Grizzlies are looking to bring in a guard who can't shoot.
