Jamaal Franklin has decided to make some guaranteed cash overseas before returning to the U.S. to chase his NBA dream according to an article from Mark Zeigler of U-T San Diego.
Franklin is currently being paid $163,000 per year over the next 5 years as a result of the Grizzlies using the NBA stretch provision after waiving him back in August. The young man is wisely looking to pad his account without putting too much of a dent into his track back to the big league, something that most people would probably look back and appreciate doing in their early 20's.
Godspeed to Jamaal. He was always a very humble guy who was kind enough to give us a couple of interviews here at GBB during his time with the Grizzlies. He's got some good basketball skills and nice size, but developing more confidence would do him a world of good for his chances in the NBA.
