Injury Report

Dallas: Raymond Felton (sprained right ankle) - probable.

Memphis: None

Recently for Dallas

The Mavs have won 6 of their last 7 games, and have been riding the juggernaut-like wave that is their offensive attack. They do, however, tend to give up a LOT of points as their opponents have been averaging over 108 PPG against them in those 7 games. Chandler Parsons is starting to find his stride after a slow start, Monta Ellis is averaging 28 PPG so far this month, and Dirk is still putting up numbers right at his career averages -- although he has gone ice cold from three in his last 6 games, shooting a bizarrely awful 7/37 (19%).

Recently for Memphis

The Grizzlies gave up big points in their first set of back-to-back losses this season, but came back strong against Miami on Sunday and held them to 87 points, a total much more suitable to their usual style of play. Jon Leuer had a cult-boosting performance in that contest, and Mike Conley scored 18 points while not missing a single shot all game. Memphis' bench has been vital to their competitiveness and often shown up to provide a boost when the starters get off to slow starts.

What to Watch For

  • The new, improved Marc Gasol on Dirk Nowitzki. During the preseason exhibition in Dallas, Marc provided more production in the 23 minutes that they both played, often matching against Dirk and holding him to 3/8 shooting. The key for Marc will be staying out of foul trouble as Nowitzki is still getting to the line well, even amidst a shooting slump.
  • Vince Carter is five made 3-pointers away from passing Chauncey Billups and moving to #6 in all-time 3-point makes. Unfortunately, I'd be sent to the hospital in shock if Carter accomplished this tonight. But you know if Vince can get on the floor at all, he'll be firing away like they're playing with a 6-second shot clock. As you can see, I'm trying to ignore the fact that VC has looked pretty bad the past few games and has largely been a disappointment to fans so far.
  • Zach Randolph averaged 21.8 PPG against the Mavs in four games last season, his 3rd highest average against any team. Z-Bo plays a nice, physical game against this team, averaging a high number of offensive rebounds and trips to the foul line. The big guy always likes to show up fierce against the other top PF's in the NBA.
