Memphis Grizzlies stall out against the Dallas Mavericks, 96-110

The Grizzlies looked great to start the game, but Dave Joerger and the squad ultimately couldn't figure out how to arrange the puzzle to complete with the Mavericks.

The Grizzlies had a strong start to the half, but ultimately couldn't figure out how to stop the Mavericks.

Memphis had strong outings from Zach Randolph and Courtney Lee, but their contributions came too early or too late to garner the Grizzlies sufficient momentum to compete with the Mavericks.

The Griz just let too many Dallas players get going, including 30 pts from Vince Carter and Brandon Wright, and Memphis buried themselves with a swinging deficit in the 3rd quarter that ultimately proved to be the demise of the Grizzlies tonight.

You could definitely see the signs of Life-Without-Mike-Conley in the second half tonight. Mike has shown the ability to push the pace with efficiency and execution with the Grizzlies behind in games this season, but the best efforts of Nick Calathes and other substitutes couldn't score fast enough to keep up with the deteriorating Grizzlies defense that gave up 58 points in the second half.

Curious lineup choices tonight with (6) players receiving about 84% of the playing time tonight. Zero minutes for Ed Davis and minimal time for Mike Miller and Jon Leuer with Tayshaun Prince putting up a goose egg in the points department.

I'd like to applaude the performance of Nick Calathes (minus the 6 turnovers), and I can't blame the stalling offense solely on him. Marc Gasol continues to slowly work back into his normal-awesomeness and that was not the production we need from Big Spain to win without Mike Conley. It looks like a decent game for Marc until you see that he matched Calathes' turnover total with six, three in each half.
