Reasons to be optimistic: Thank the Griz spirits that both Golden State and Phoenix lost improbable games last night. The Grizzlies bench saw minimal time in Portland so perhaps some of those fresh legs give them a boost when they need it. The Nuggets aren't a very good team and are coming off harsh spankings by the Thunder and Spurs.

Solitaire: For once the only action tonight that affects the Grizzlies is their own game against the Nuggets. That should simplify the mindset of the team; win this game and you gain 1/2 game to tie the Suns and sneak back into the 8th spot.

Forecast: This would be a huge win tonight for the Grizzlies, but this is going to be a really tough one. The Grizzlies have only won twice in Denver since Bill Clinton was in office. It's improbable but not impossible; several of these very Griz pulled it off two years ago. Looking ahead to Tuesday, we have Golden State and Dallas playing each other. It'll be nice to gain ground with someone's loss there, and then later in the evening the Blazers play a Lakers team that just knocked off the Suns with some high-scoring feats.
