Update on the Grizzly Bear Blues Staff expansion, a flurry of Grit and Grind breaks down my door!

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

I must say I wasn't quite expecting the deluge of exuberance when I posted the Help Wanted Ad earlier this week, but it's been an incredibly encouraging and invigorating experience. Everyone's interest in the site has really inspired me and, well goshdarnit, made me feel really good about myself and the present staff this week.

I've received a huge response to the post and I'm currently sifting through all the applicants, the skills of everyone and the availability that you've given me. I hope to have things organized by Monday so I can get back in touch with you all. If I haven't responded to you yet please bear with me!

Keep in mind that I won't be able to make a space on the GBB Staff for everyone that has applied. But even if I can't use your talents on the staff at this moment that doesn't mean I don't want you involved on the site. Our own Senior Writer Joe Mullinax spent months in the wings writing FanPosts and honing his craft, only to become one of the prominent voices of GBB!

Also, realize that I'm going into my 2nd season as site operator. There's a lot I still don't know and a lot that can still be created in regards to site material. I'm always trying to come up with new ideas to entertain people on GBB, and it's far easier to execute those ideas if I have passionate and dedicated GBBers standing by, ready to take hold of a fresh concept.

I appreciate all your enthusiasm for the site and for the Grizzlies. It's going to be a really fun '14-15 season and I look forward to having ALL of you involved in some way.

Keep those FanPosts coming!

I have enjoyed reading a lot of the samples from everyone, but a fresh, contemporary Grizzlies piece that's been crafted with care will go a long ways towards helping you stand out!

Already written one? Write another!

Remember: The presentation of your sample/audition is similar to what you might wear to a job interview. You wouldn't show up to an interview in torn pajamas and a wife beater so give me something that tells me you're going to try and make your material look good on the site.
