Another fine performance from Pau Gasol would see Spain come out on top against a Brazil side that could have caused them trouble with the strength of their roster.

Brazil would score the first 2 points of the opening quarter, before Rubio finds Marc Gasol in the paint who finishes close to the rim and draws the foul, he would then convert the free throw which would set Spain on route to a 15-2 run in the opening minutes.

In the first quarter Pau would have 12 points on 6-7 shooting, making some great plays. In the opening minutes Pau would pick the ball up just outside the arc, some great footwork would see him glide past to Brazilian defenders before finishing with the lay up despite being under immense pressure.

He would then finish an amazing put back dunk from a missed Navarro shot. Before finishing another missed shot, this time with a one handed jam.

Varejao would enter the game for Brazil with 4 minutes left in the quarter and would go on to have a solid game, finishing with 10 points on 5-8 shooting.

Leandro Barbosa finished the game with 11 points on 5-7 shooting. But Brazil's frontcourt duo who both play in the NBA didn't contribute as much to the game, both Nene and Tiago Splitter would shoot just 2-7 in the game.

Spain were on fire in the first quarter, shooting 77% on 2 point attempts and 60% on 3's.

Marc Gasol would finish the quarter with 5 points and 3 rebounds. He would only add 3 more points and 2 more rebounds in the remainder of the game, but he did add 3 assists to his stat sheet.

Spain held a commanding 30-14 lead after the first quarter.

Brazil would start the second quarter on a 9-3 run in the first 4 minutes of play. Pau Gasol then finds himself backing down Varejao in the low post, he swings he shoulder and catches Varejao with a hard one to the jaw. The officials call an offensive foul much to the displeasure of Juan Antonio Orenga who would go running to the scorer's table demanding for an explanation as to why the foul was called.

Calderon would then add to the scoring by hitting a 3 pointer with 5:15 left on the clock, Brazil then turn the ball over on the next play before Calderon is fouled attempting a midrange 2, he would go on to make the two free throws.

Just before the end of the half Nene is called for a foul on Pau which sends him to the charity stripe. He would make the first and miss the second. Off the miss Reyes grabs the rebound and attempts the lay up which is swatted away brilliantly by Nene.

Spain were up 45-32 at the half, with Pau Gasol having 13 points 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Of all the Spanish players that logged minutes in the first half only Ricky Rubio would fail to score.

After 3 and a half minutes of play in the third quarter Spain were leading by 23 points following a corner three from Navarro. He would finish the game with 10points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

With 3 minutes left in the quarter the whole of the Brazilian bench would leap to their feet. For just a split second Spain would have 6 players on the court following an inbound pass. Ibaka came on in place for Marc Gasol, but the ball was inbounded before Marc had left the court. He would sheepishly shuffle off the court as play continued.

Spain would end the quarter with a 19 point lead with the game all but over.

At the start of the 4th Llull would finish a fantastic dunk. He's stationary on the baseline, 12 feet from the basket with 2 defenders blocking his path to the rim, he takes a step back, stops dead for a second, before accelerating at great speed past the two defenders and slams it down before they have chance to even react.

Rudy Fernandez would then lob the ball up towards Marc in the paint, he tips it one handed towards the basket where Serge Ibaka finishes it with the one handed jam.

With 2:00 left to play Navarro finds Rodriguez for the three pointer. This was Spain's 11th three pointer of the game from 24 attempts. 3 of which game from Pau Gasol off just 5 attempts.

Another good night of distributing the ball from Ricky Rubio would see him finish with 6 assists. In contrast the whole of Brazil's roster would have just 7 assists.

Final Score: Spain 82-63 Brazil

Spain have now defeated their 3 opponents by a total of 86 points.
