Given how much time the Memphis Grizzlies gave Zach Randolph's knee to heal up, it's a wise bet that Mike Conley will sit out tonight in Orlando with what is being called a right ankle sprain after Mike's tumble through a cameraman in Brooklyn.
Injury Report: Mike Conley (sprained right ankle) did not participate in @memgrizz shootaround and is questionable at Orlando tonight— Rob Fischer (@thefishnation) January 16, 2015
I would agree with a motion to rest Conley tonight. In fact, I implore it. If Mike is hobbled he won't be much good against a very athletic backcourt for the Magic anyway. We've got fresh legs in Beno Udrih and even fresher legs in Nick Calathes. Beno's been phenomenal with the bench unit, and that's where I think he should stay tonight. Let Nick start and get the gears turning for Tony Allen and Courtney Lee. He's also originally from Orlando so there's probably some extra motivation laced in him tonight.
Update 5:13PM CT
Mike is out tonight.
