It's likely that Mike Conley sits out another game today. The Mavericks have been off since Friday night, so Beno Udrih will have another tall order this afternoon as he gets matched up on another long, athletic point guard. Rondo now has a full month or so under his belt in Dallas but is still trying to figure out his role on a team that needs a lot of guards to have the ball in their hands. Dirk Nowitzki has started heating up from long range (43.5% in January) after shooting just 27.8% from three in December. The Grizzlies can't let another opponent take open shots from beyond the arc.
The addition of Jeff Green has thus far been an encouraging experiment in Memphis with his speed and size giving the Grizzlies a really nice offensive change up when ball movement slows down around the perimeter. Green's size could be particularly useful today, as he might be called upon to defend the larger front court of Dallas.
Marc Gasol looks to be a lock for the All-Star team despite some of his gaudier numbers trailing off in the past month. Perhaps Marc is just catching his breath, or perhaps he's settling into a more relaxed role that doesn't have him shooting 15-20 times a game. It's something to keep watch over as we start to creep up on the All-Star break.
