The Grizzlies beat the Knicks in a game that was over in the third quarter.

Grizzlies Report Card

Grizzlies 105 - Knicks 83

Coach Dave Joerger:

Grade: B+

Coach is weathering a storm right now with Zach Randolph out and he's doing it well. He has been switching out Stokes, Leuer, and Prince to put together some sort of production at the power forward spot. It's working as of right now, but it may not last much longer. Keeping the starters under control in a game like this is important and CDJ was able to do it.

Mike Conley: 27 MINS | 22 PTS | 9-12 FGS | 7 REBS | 7 ASTS | +26

Grade: A

Mike destroyed Jose Calderon and Shane Larkin. I almost picked him in FanDuel, but I'm an idiot and went with someone else that lost me money. I'm going to do something special for his first triple-double which I just know is coming soon.

Courtney Lee: 26 MINS | 11 PTS | 5-8 FGS | 2 REBS | +23

Grade: B+

AGGRESSIVE COURTNEY LEE SHOWED UP TO PLAY! He loves playing terrible teams and, well, the Knicks are pretty terrible. The reserved Courtney Lee was gone against the Knicks. This CLee was putting them up with no hesitation AND I LOVE IT!

Tony Allen: 25 MINS | 14 PTS | 6-8 FGS | 7 STLS | +20

Grade: A

We were deprived of the JR Smith/Tony Allen matchup that is always loads of fun, so Tony turned up on his own. He hit a three (all you need to know) and was hitting contested layups. Still can't hit the open ones. They may need to start charging him $100 for every missed open one again.

Jarnell Stokes: 17 MINS | 3 PTS | 1-4 FGS | 1 REB | +2

Grade: C-

This wasn't the way Stokes wanted to play in his first start. All of the flaws that forced him into the second round were magnified against the Knicks. Not finishing against athleticism, poor defense, and being undersized were all problems for the new rookie. Hopefully he will be able to overcome a rough first start.

Marc Gasol: 28 MINS | 14 PTS | 5-12 FGS | 8 REBS | 4 ASTS | +26

Grade: A-

Gasol struggled to make easy shots, or this game would never have been as close as it was. The Knicks waived the one guy that could maybe bother him in the post during shootaround. Josh Smith and Cole Aldrich had no chance of stopping him and they knew it. He sat most of the second half or this stat line would be much bigger.

Quincy Pondexter: 21 MINS | 8 PTS | 4-5 FGS | 5 REBS | -2

Grade: B+

IT'S LIKE HE HAS BEEN READING WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG. QPon limited his dribbles, took every catch and shoot opportunity he got, and played his butt off. All he needs to do is play to his strength (Ed. Note: Yes, strength. Singular. -KY) instead of whatever it is he's been trying to do.

Vince Carter: 12 MINS | 6 PTS | 2-4 FGS | 1 BLK | +4

Grade: B

Vince hit two threes and looked like he regained that spring in his step he's been missing since before RUINING JUSUF NURKIC'S LIFE. It was nice to see some shots fall for him after a rough patch. I hope the made shots weren't wasted on the Knicks. The Grizz need him in a tough matchup against Atlanta on Wednesday night.

Tayshaun Prince: 23 MINS | 8 PTS | 4-7 FGS | 4 ASTS | +21

Grade: B

Who wants to bet that Tayshaun starts at the four next game? That's where most of his minutes are coming now and it's working with the right matchup. He has a good post up game because his arms stretch like laffy taffy and he's old (all old dudes can work the block), so Coach Joerger is having him break it out every now and then. It's important that he produces if Leuer and Stokes aren't, and tonight he did.

Kosta Koufos: 14 MINS | 4 PTS | 2-5 FGS | 5 REBS | -3

Grade: B-

Well his usual short minutes were cut even shorter due to the blowout. In what could be called a cameo appearance, he protected the rim and grabbed five boards

Jon Leuer: 15 MINS | 3 PTS | 1-3 FGS| 7 REBS | -1

Grade: C+

Jonny Backup was back in his usual role, and he did a good job splitting time with Tayshaun Prince. He looked confident and did well on the glass. I'm really interested about his minutes going forward. I think he will stay in a backup role with Z-Bo out, but I wonder if Prince playing well at the four could push him to the bench when Z-Bo is healthy.

Beno Udrih: 15 MINS | 7 PTS | 2-7 FGS | 3 ASTS | -3

Grade: C

I'm chalking this rough shooting night up to rust coming off an injury. It looked like he was pushing the issue a bit and forcing up shots. HE WAS RUSTY AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME ANY DIFFERENT.

Jordan Adams: 10 MINS | 1 PTS | 0-5 FGS | 1 AST | -2

Grade: D

Nick Calathes: 6 MINS | 4 PTS | 2-2 FGS | 2 REBS | -1

Grade: Not Eligible

Zach Randolph: DNP knee soreness
