Memphis fans were in for a thriller tonight as the Grizzlies pulled off a 101-100 win against the Portland Trail Blazers, who made things interesting late in the game.

Mario Chalmers won the hearts of many Grizz fans tonight as he had an impressive 11 points in his debut. The Grizzlies pulled away by double digits in the second half, but Portland cut the deficit to four with less than three minutes left and cut it to three with less than two minutes left. The game was close down the stretch, and the Trailblazers tied the game up with about 12 seconds to go. Courtney Lee missed a three, and Jeff Green missed the put back. But luckily, Zach Randolph was there to save the Grizzlies as he grabbed the offensive rebound for the dagger basket. Clutch Z-Bo, indeed. Overall, he had 15 points on the night.

While Mike Conley had some bright moments, he still struggled with his shooting as he was 4-13 from the field. During the game he went down with an apparent lower leg or knee injury, as well as appeared to tweak his ankle. Conley still continued to play, but it will be interesting to see how his injury affects him going forward

Marc Gasol was probably the best player for Memphis tonight. Over the past few games, he's slowly been getting back to his old All-Star self. We saw the peak of Marc Gasol tonight. As well as having 30 points, he scored a sweet three-pointer as the shot clock was expiring:

On many levels, it was a bad night for Tony Allen. He had 0 points on 0-6 shooting, and he committed an untimely foul late in the game. Last season, it seemed Tony's treats made up for his tricks. However, so far his tricks have been far more abundant than his treats. He missed several easy buckets, and he only had one steal. Hopefully, things will get better for Tony, or he might find himself out of the starting lineup in the near future.

JaMychal Green had another solid night and displayed great effort on both ends of the floor. He had 6 points and 4 rebounds in 18 minutes of play.

For the Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard's hand injury was clearly bothering him. He played 38 minutes, but he only had 11 points on 5-15 shooting and was 0-5 from three. C.J. McCollum was the best player on the floor tonight for Portland with 26 points, including 2 three's. Former Grizzly Ed Davis had 7 points and 8 rebounds.

The Grizzlies grabbed a much-needed win tonight in FedEx Forum to end their losing streak and put some confidence back into the Memphis players. Now, the Grizzlies need to focus on a Sunday afternoon showdown against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
