The NBA conducted an investigation for over two months and determined that Matt Barnes should be suspended for two games for driving 90 miles up the coast of California to beat up Derek Fisher (who was hanging out with Barnes' children and estranged wife) during the Memphis Grizzlies training camp in Santa Barbara.

To my knowledge there is no pending civil lawsuit regarding this incident. Hopefully Barnes has made peace with the parties involved and moved on. This is ugliness that we don't need around the Grizzlies.
Barnes will end up going over an entire week without playing a game because of some rare scheduling for the Grizzlies. Memphis plays Tuesday night, Dec. 29th but then has (3) days off before starting a three-game road trip in Utah on Saturday.
