Final Score: Grizzlies Look Recharged As They Roll Past The Bucks, 96-83

The Forum was packed with fans hoping the Grizzlies would look like themselves tonight. They weren't disappointed as Memphis ended their two-game losing streak by defeating the Bucks, and appeared to be refreshed after a long road trip.

The Grizzlies came into tonight's game on a two game skid, and the Bucks were coming off an OT loss to the Indiana Pacers a couple of days ago. Memphis was in search of a solid win, and they got one tonight against a tough but undermanned Bucks team.

At the beginning of the first quarter, the Grizzlies came out flat and trailed 11-4. Turnovers plagued the Grizzlies early as they had about 9 turnovers in the first quarter, but only 14 total. After gaining the lead at the end of the quarter by two, however, Memphis took off from there.

Mike Conley sat this one out, but other Grizzlies players stepped up. Courtney Lee really got going tonight, which was extremely refreshing for Grizzlies fans who have longed for Lee to both shoot the ball more and hit some threes. He racked up 17 points, including 2 threes. In fact, Memphis' back court in general was productive, as Beno Udrih also had 14 points.

For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo was impressive and had 19 points, and all five of Milwaukee's starters were in double digits. Former Grizzly O.J. Mayo had 0 points in 7 minutes. Ersan Ilyasova was 2-4 from beyond the arc.

In the second quarter, the Grizzlies surged ahead by double digits, but only led by 7 going into the third. However, Memphis never relinquished the lead and led it by double digits multiple times in the second half. It was good to see Memphis not have a complacent second half after such a great second quarter. Tony Allen was everywhere tonight and had 9 points and 4 steals off the bench. Vince Carter also appears to be getting into a better groove since coming back from injury. He had 8 points in 16 minutes of play:

During the game, Marc Gasol appeared to have banged knees with one of the Bucks' players, but fortunately did not appear to suffer an injury. He had 12 points and was 6-12 from the field.

Memphis out-shot their opponent from three tonight, which is a rarity, as they had 8 threes and the Bucks had only 5. Besides the barrage of turnovers at the beginning of the game, the Grizzlies appeared much more engaged and consistent in tonight's match. Hopefully, they can carry their solid play into next week.
