DeMarcus Cousins out against the Memphis Grizzlies

The sun just started shiner a little brighter in Memphis.

Marc Gasol will have a choice opportunity on Monday night at FedexForum as the Memphis Grizzlies will go up against a struggling Sacramento Kings team that will be without DeMarcus Cousins.

Rest for Cousins could ultimately mean rest for Marc Gasol as Grizzlies backup center Kosta Koufos is ready to take some of those minutes. I'd prefer Dave Joerger use this opportunity to get the home crowd in Memphis in raucous applause for their All-Star center who has looked in need of a pick-me-up lately.

The absence of Cousins probably means added pressure to Rudy Gay who will be more than happy to take 30+ shots against the Grizzlies tonight. Gay has had some really good games against Memphis since being traded to Sacramento, but funneling most of the offense through him is something that will probably have the Grizzlies licking their chops on defense.
