Memphis Grizzlies Future Draft Pick Accounting

New, comments

What, who and when the Grizzlies owe future picks.

Here's everything you need to know for the future of the Memphis Grizzlies draft picks as it stands in June of 2015. The bad news is that the Grizzlies owe out five future picks, and two of them are protected first-rounders. The good news is that they've got a couple of 2nd rounders coming back to them that'll negate some of the 2nd's their dishing out.

Unfortunately, it's just a matter of time before Memphis has to relinquish two chances to snag one of the top young basketball talents unless they maneuver back into possession of one.

Check out RealGM for all the other NBA teams' accounting of future draft picks. It can be a lot worse than the Grizzlies' circumstances; just take a look at Brooklyn.

What makes these debts especially frustrating for some fans is the fact that one represents salary cap freedom & Jon Leuer and the other represents Jeff Green, a polarizing player for the Grizzlies this season who will likely have another season with Memphis to prove worthy of that first round pick sent to Boston.
