The Memphis Grizzlies continue their pre-draft workouts in preparation for the 2015 NBA Draft on June 25th in which they'll have the 25th overall selection. On Wednesday, general manager Chris Wallace talked about how the process was going.
On the Grizzlies working out players from regional schools:
We like to try to give as many local, Tennessee-area players as we can a look.
When asked if there's anything to read into the plethora of big men they've worked out:
No, these are guys, if you're where we are in the draft, you should be seeing, particularly Dakari Johnson. A lot of it's scheduling too.
So don't go drawing conclusions based on the workouts - nothing new there.
When prodded further on Dakari Johnson, Wallace had some great things to say:
Dakari is a real student of the game and as conscientious a young man as I've ever encountered in a workout setting. We took him out to eat last night. He's locked in to both myself and Ed Stefanski. He understands this is a long journey for success in the NBA.
The way Chris Wallace describes Johnson makes him sounds like a natural fit for the Grizzlies.
