We have a trade!!

Philadelphia 76ers trade: Pick #3, Joel Embiid

for

Minnesota Timberwolves: rights to Karl-Anthony Towns, Shabazz Muhammad, Zach Lavine, 2017 (1-8 protected) first round pick

From Timberwolves GM Jonah Jordan:

Losing two young pieces (I refuse to include Shabazz in this because I have no clue how old he actually is) and that 2017 first rounder hurts. But Joel Embiid was my favorite big man prospect since DeMarcus Cousins when he came out of college. He's going to be awesome. Then getting that third pick kind of makes up for losing Lavine and Muhammad.

I guess it was because he was hurt and tweeting at Rihanna all season, but it seems that everyone has forgotten how awesome Joel Embiid was in college. He has an insanely high ceiling and would most likely have gone number one in this draft.

With the third pick in the 2015 Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Jonah Jordan select:

3) D'Angelo Russell, Guard from Ohio State

From GM Jonah Jordan:

D'Angelo Russell joins Ricky Rubio in the Wolves backcourt. Russell, like Rubio, has such creativity with the basketball. He can throw incredible passes all over the court and break his defender down with handles that can remind you of a young Steph Curry.

Russell gives the TWolves so many options. He can play next to Rubio and Andrew Wiggins or if a deal pops up for Rubio he can run the show as the point guard.

The thing Russell can do that nobody on the Wolves really can do is consistently shoot threes. He's going to be a huge asset for a team that should start pushing the ball. Imagine stopping a fast break led by Rubio with Wiggins running at the basket and Russell spotting up for three. That's 1. incredibly fun and 2. almost unstoppable.

Russell isn't going to be locking anyone down on defense, but next to Wiggins/Rubio and Embiid behind them that almost won't matter. A lineup of all the Wolves young guys (note: no KG, Kevin Martin or Pekovic) is going to be terrifying in a few years.

Three picks are down and we have our first trade! Up next are Joe Mullinax and the New York Knicks at pick #4.
