Here are Sports Illustrated's Top 10 NBA Players a Day Early

Featuring our own Marc Gasol!

Just like last year, we here at Grizzly Bear Blues have fired up the supercomputers and used a top secret algorithm to determine exactly who the writers at Sports Illustrated have chosen as their top 10 players in the National Basketball Association. That's right, you got scooped again, turkeys!

SI has been counting them down all week, but we didn't want you all to have to wait until tomorrow for the big reveal, so without further ado, here they are (in alphabetical order):

  • Stephen Curry
  • Anthony Davis
  • Kevin Durant
  • Marc Gasol
  • Blake Griffin
  • James Harden
  • LeBron James
  • Kawhi Leonard
  • Chris Paul
  • Russell Westbrook

Just for fun, here's how I'd rank 'em:

  1. Lebron James
  2. Anthony Davis
  3. Stephen Curry
  4. Kevin Durant
  5. Russell Westbrook
  6. James Harden
  7. Chris Paul
  8. Marc Gasol
  9. Kawhi Leonard
  10. Blake Griffin

The big news for Grizzlies fans is that Marc Gasol made it into the Top 10 this year after earning First-Team All-NBA honors and earning a starting spot in the All-Star game, both franchise firsts. Mike Conley continued to move up the pecking order from, jumping five spots to number 27. Zach Randolph stayed in the top 50, but slid from 42 to 49. No other Grizzlies made the rankings, although Tony Allen received top billing in their "Biggest Snubs" companion piece. If nothing else, we can all celebrate that Dwight Howard's reign of terror in NBA Top 10 Players Lists is finally over. Good riddance.

And here's a survey if you'd like to rank them yourself.
