Mike Conley channels his inner rock star

Memphis’ conductor trades his baton for a microphone.

FedExForum will play host to rock star/Arena League team owner/DirecTV jingler Bon Jovi on March 16, 2017. Tickets are currently on presale, and fans are already getting excited about the show.

In fact, even the Grizzlies are getting excited. The Grizzlies twitter account posted a video of star point guard Mike Conley showing off his pipes with his rendition of one of Bon Jovi’s biggest hits:

Given then injury history of this team, and its hopes for the coming season, “Livin’ on a Prayer” seems like an especially appropriate choice.

While Mike certainly gave great effort to his performance, it’s probably safe to say that he won’t be getting a recording contract anytime soon (as fans quickly pointed out).

Hopefully we’ll get a few more players performing Bon Jovi songs. I, for one, would love a Marc Gasol rendition of “Wanted Dead or Alive,” or a TA performance of “You Give Love a Bad Name.”
